Musical Theatre I with Krista Kim and Kat Payseno

Ages 6-12

Monday from 3:00-5:00 and Tuesday from 3:00-5:00

A weekly musical theatre class where students learn all the songs, scenes and dances from the session’s chosen musical.  All students audition for specific roles but everyone signed up gets a great part!  The class concludes with a full production including costumes, lights, set, hair and makeup!  Tuition $265 by Dec. 14th, $295 by Jan. 11th, $25 late fee after Jan. 11th

OYES! – Performing Company with Kat Payseno and Krista Kim

Ages:  (fluent reader – 18 years)

This is a by audition only group. Audition Requirements: One minute monologue,16 bars of a musical theatre song

This program is geared toward those who are ready for more of an acting challenge, in depth work into the individual’s talents and preparation for professional theatre. * Company Requirements:* Must sell 10 tickets. Acting I

Ages 8-12

Acting I, section Two-Tuesdays, 5-6pm- Actors this session will work on group scenes from different time periods in theatrical development from the Greeks, to Modern American Playwrights. Actors will learn how to build their characters inside out, and outside in. This 10 week session will end with a final performance.  Tuition $150

Acting II

Ages:  13-18

Acting III

Ages:  19 and up

Adult students will learn to sharpen their acting skills through scene study,

creating relationships between characters, effectively filling the stage and space through movement, and using solo monologues to explore what goes into creating fun and unique characters.  Instructor/Rick Kuhlman. Tuition $200

Feb. 7th Feb. 14th SKIP 21ST FOR PRESIDENTS WEEK Feb. 28th March 7th March 14th SKIP 21ST FOR TEACHER CONFLICT March 28th There will be a Showcase of works in progress at 7PM. This participatory, individualized workshop prepares student actors for successful presentations, auditions, ensemble work, confidence, collaboration, critical thinking and having fun in Theatre. We will work on age appropriate monologues for auditions, ensemble work with positive interaction, and a staged reading featuring each member for the workshop. OYES Directing: Ages: 11 – up Wednesdays 3-5pm, Students will learn the directing process from beginning to end. Students will choose a one-act play to be cast and directed by them.  This 14 week class will end with a final performance of student directed one acts.
Tech Class with Kat Payseno Ages: 7 & up. Thursdays 3-5 pm, Students explore different aspects of technical theatre such as costumes, lights, sound, make-up, set construction and production planning. This 10 week class ends with invitations to work back stage at a show. Tuition $200

OYES PLAYWRIGHT OUTREACH PROGRAM Thursdays 5-7pm, Participants will begin a 20 week process in creating a 45 min. play that revolves around a Global issue. Together, participants will choose a topic to research and explore in a creative outlet by writing a play with a social impact. What would you do if you could change the world? Once, the play has been written and work shopped, the play will be produced and directed through OYES professionals for the main stage.  Free if we receive grant from Ojai Arts Commission or Tuition $400.00 OR 2 installments of $200	<
DJ SAMPLER Ages 8 & up Friday’s 3-4pm, – 3 week sample Dj class taught by Wild Stallions Djs, Aaron and John for $45.  Students will learn about hardware (turntable, mixers, speakers, etc….) beat matching, song selection and basic mixing technical skills.  If there is enough interest, we might extend the session.  Call to enroll. 646-4300.
MOMMY AND ME MUSIC Tot Music with Siree Franks Ages: Mixed - Tuesdays from 9:30-10:15 Mixed-age classes are designed for families with babies, toddlers and/or preschoolers.  We sing, dance and get silly while demonstrating rhythm and melody through modeling and fun, adult-child interaction.  Children are able to observe and respond spontaneously to the musical environment at their own pace and developmental level without performance pressure.  Tuition $150.00
